Bringing you new music from both established and emerging Artists, NITV’s Fusion is a dynamic new music show  made to get you in the party mood.

Hosted by Casey Donovan, Fusion seeks to showcase the diverse range of musical genres that Indigenous people are involved in today, both by paying tribute to much-loved legends of the Australian music scene and highlighting its rising stars. There will also be an opportunity for the audience to get ‘up close and personal’ with these artists as they share personal reflections on the powerful medium of Music.

Australia’s own Big, Beautiful & Sexy showgirl, Casey Donovan is inviting Sydneysiders to herself special concert during Reconciliation Week 2012, performing songs for reconciliation and showcasing songs from her forthcoming album “Love & Goodbye”  in a special intimate show at the Seymour Centre, the performing arts centre of the University of Sydney.

Donovan purposely chose to conduct the show during Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) to pay tribute to her Aboriginal heritage, and the community which has remained loyal and supported her since her meteoric rise to fame at the tender age of 16.

“Reconciliation Week is so important! Not only to move forward, but also to learn about our past and celebrate how far we have come,” says Donovan, who will perform on May 30 in the intimate, cabaret surrounds of the Seymour Centre’s newly renovated Sound Lounge.

Donovan says the theme of Reconciliation Week, “Let’s Talk Recognition” is vital and has taken her on her own journey of self-discovery of what it means to be a young person and performer.

“Let’s talk recognition isn’t just outward, it also means having that conversation with yourself. You need understand yourself, recognise and embrace your culture and path your own way on the journey of life. It is also important that as a community we all band together and that is what Reconciliation Week is about.  Donovan says.

Since becoming the youngest ever winner of Australian Idol, Casey Donovan has gone on to make an indelible mark on the Australian theatre and music scenes. She has achieved an ARIA Award for ‘Listen With Your Heart’ and Deadly Awards for Best Album, Best Single and Most Promising New Talent.  Her much anticipated 2010 single ‘Big, Beautiful and Sexy’ saw her become a poster girl for fuller-figured women and generated close to 9,000 Facebook fans supportive of body image.

The past few years have seen Casey’s performance breadth bloom. Casey’s portrayal of Cynthia in the hit musical The Sapphires, presented by Company B Belvoir and Black Swan State Theatre Company, received rave reviews in Australia, London and Korea and her performance as Mama Cass in the Melbourne production of new Australian musical Flowerchildren was critically acclaimed. She also went on to headline her own Mama Cass shows in Sydney and Canberra and, in addition to headlining Vibe Alive tours across Australia, also supported the legendary Cyndi Lauper on her Australian National Tour.

The Big, Beautiful & Sexy Australian tour, saw Donovan perform to sell-out crowds at some of the country’s most coveted venues and participate in events such as Adelaide Festival, Brisbane Festival, The Rocks Festival of the Voice, Darwin Festival and Yabun Festival.

The Green Room Awards recognise and celebrate excellence on the professional stage in Melbourne. They are assessed by members of the Association who are themselves professional workers in the theatre and, in many cases, past Award recipients or nominees.

Nominations are made for work that the Association would be proud to acknowledge as an award recipient. The members of the award panels and the Association through its ratification meeting all regard Flowerchildren as an  outstanding piece of work. A secret ballot process decides the final recipient in each category

Big, Beautiful & Sexy Songstress Casey Donovan will wrap-up her acclaimed Big Beautiful & Sexy show this year after a run of performances around Australia. After the success of her last show at Brisbane Festival, Casey returns to Queensland for a special one-off performance before she wraps up the tour for good.
