Dynamic singers, dancers, artists and comedians are getting ready to ensure students from the Port Hedland region have a great time at the Vibe Alive Festival next month.

The Vibe Alive event will be held on June 20 and 21 at Hedland Senior High School.

The two-day youth festival will challenge and inspire the students of Port Hedland and the region as they form teams to compete in Indigenous games and take part in a host of other fun-filled activities.

Apart from the games, students enjoy dancing and singing competitions, numeracy and literacy activities, a careers and health expo, art workshops and goal-setting activities to determine the overall Port Hedland Vibe Alive winner.

This year’s festival showcases major Indigenous talents including singer and former Australian Idol Casey Donovan.

Casey has tried her hand at everything over the past two years – from solo shows to musical theatre and even Shakespeare.

One of her recent incarnations was as 60’s pop crooner Cass Elliott from the musical Flowerchildren.

Emcee for the event is actor Luke Carroll.

Luke has starred in The Flying Doctors, Lift Off, The Man from Snowy River, Ocean Girl and Water Rats, The Alice and the mini-series RAN.

The event also features well-known dancers including Courtney Walter, from So You Think You Can Dance, and Matty Shields – from Australia’s Got Talent.
